I love the mix of quiet melancholy and soaring wonder here. Listening makes me feel like I am looking up at the night sky on another world, watching impossible boreal colors dance along the horizon while tall trees sway in the keening wind, and gray-cloaked figures add their own long-dead voices to the joyful lament. Some people reguard roman and greek statues in a state of ruin as being better for it. Gone from being brightly coloured and intact to broken, bleached by ages and forgotten.
It can be the same with lo fi recordings of lamentable quality. Much like the ruins, we now carve new statues made to emulate those ruins. Although not a statue, Greysleeve occupies that same place in my mind. GarrettStrife
